October 10

FAMILY & FRIENDS
By Karen Horton

We are happy to announce that Jarred and Hollie Linam have placed membership with the Bella Vista congregation! Jarred and Hollie have two lovely children, Taylor and Westin. Get acquainted with this nice family and make sure they are in your Fun Food & Fellowship groups.

What a beautiful Lord’s Day! It almost feels like summer, but we will soon see all of God’s beauty in the fall spectacular! Our visitors we were blessed with are: Wes & Blaine Owens (Claremore, OK), Pat & Ruth Ryan (Louisville, CO), Bob & Patsy Boynton (Whitney, TX), Mr. & Mrs. Wilford Carden (Hutchinson, KS), Rhiannon Fields (Springdale), Dale & Wanda Guice (Searcy), Greg & Karen McGee (Farmington), Janell Wood (Bentonville), Lori & Brooke Jedlicka (Rogers), Richard & Diana Mehnert and Brock & Austin and Jim & Shirl Miller (Bella Vista) Tyler Stroud and Randy Gibbs.

Keep the Harold Long family and Richard Mason in your prayers for the recent loss of their loved ones. Jennifer Oxford received a good report from the Mayo Clinic. She will not have to have a new transplant at this time. Keep her in your prayers daily. Patty Sinquefield is having a kidney biopsy Thursday October 11th. Don Sinquefield is also scheduled to have a Bareatric Bypass surgery. Please keep both Patty and Don in your prayers. Monica Klingman has asked us to pray for the Jay Mabry family whose young son is having problems. Keep John Archer and Josh Mahaffey in your prayers as they prepare for a mission trip to South America. Continue to pray for Freddie Banks, Don Fry, Bob Moser, Norma and Burl Griggs, Olga Smith’s great grandson Zachary, Ray Pinner, Clara Dean Welker, Frances Bontrager, our missionaries and our military.

True humility is not thinking lowly of yourself but thinking accurately of yourself. The humble heart does not say, ‘I can’t do anything,’ But rather, ‘I can’t do everything. I know my part and am happy to do it.’” (Lucado) “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 )

We want to thank Don Moseley and his singers for such a great job with the music for Harold Long’s funeral. It was a really beautiful service. Thanks to Randall also. A thank you to all who prepared food, served the dinner, and cleaned up afterwards. We love you all! A special thanks also goes to Jim Branstetter for hauling off all the odds and ends that we collected on our workday clean-up.

The Northwest Arkansas Churches of Christ will have a combined service at the Springdale High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday night, October 21, 2007. The speaker will be Walter Buchanan; singing begins at 5:30 and the service begins at 6. There will be no service here Sunday evening, so that you may attend.

There will be a baby shower for Elisha Alas on October 14th at the building from 2 to 3:30 PM. They are expecting a baby girl. Charlotte Akridge and Robin Kinder are the hostesses.

If you would like to contribute for the mission trip for Josh Mahaffey, you may give your money to one of our Elders. Don’t forget about our Wednesday Fellowship Suppers.

Teenagers will be going to a 5th Quarter Party hosted by the Bentonville Church of Christ Youth Group at their Youth Center on Friday October 11th after the football game. The party will last until midnight. Give Jared a call if you would like to go.

Don’t forget, to bring your items for the Community Kids back by October 14th. Please include your card, with the items you are suppose to bring and the sales receipt. Thanks for your participation!

And, don’t forget Thursday October 11th about the Altrusa Spaghetti Dinner. See Mary Louise Harris about tickets. The food is always good and it goes for a good cause.
Those items needed for Fair Haven Children’s Home are kleenex, pop tarts, pie filling and cereal.

“Salvation is the miracle of a moment; growth is the labor of a lifetime.” Love you, see you next Lord’s Day.
