November 28

FAMILY & FRIENDS
By Karen Horton

“There is this about a chill November; It makes one appreciate a fireside.” (Borland) Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, with excellent food and dear friends, and our gracious hosts. I would like to thank the Kahlers for a very special day! We were blessed with these visitors: Bob & Patsy Boynton (Whitney, TX), Janice Martin (Wichita, KS), Eugene & Luvenia Jenkins and Peyton & Tyler, Tori Rifenbark (Joplin, MO), Brenda Taylor (Tulsa, OK), Pat & Maria Cowden (Strafford, MO), Owanna Johnson (Spiro, OK), Jean Flanary (Van Buren), Lori & Brooke Jedlicka (Rogers), Rauton C. & Ruddick and daughter Madilynn (Bentonville), Charles & Nancy Cash, Kyle & Tisha Deen, Jim & Shirl Miller, Cathy Power (all from Bella Vista), Tyler Stroud and Jade.

Please remember in your prayers those who have recently lost loved ones: Don & Shirley Hansen, in the loss of Shirley’s son Blain; Barbara Persels and her family, for the loss of her brother-in-law; and my mother Louise Woods, who lost her brother Donald Faulk last Saturday. She has lost a brother each year, the last three years.

Those on our sick list in need of our prayers, and others just needing special prayers include: Freddie Banks has been taken to Circle Of Life Hospice on Hwy 412 in Springdale. Ray Pinner has been released from Bentonville’s Northwest Medical Center. Burl Griggs has been diagnosed with shingles. Kay Anderson Strickland has asked for prayers for her son, Brent Reinhardt, who is being deployed to Iraq on December 26th. Please continue to pray for Jennifer Oxford, Mary Montgomery, Norma Griggs, Don Calhoun, our missionaries and our military.

“How unbelievably awesome is the One Who created everything! Our heads should bow, our knees should bend, our wills should yield, our hands should serve, our minds should worship, and our hearts should love the One Whose glory is revealed in the beginning through His eternity, deity, activity, and identity.” (Lotz)

Thanks to Randall for a great Sunday morning lesson, and a big thank you to Charles Cash for a great lesson Sunday evening. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

It is good to have John Archer back from his mission trip to South America. John said the trip was successful. We thank John and Josh for their hard work and dedication for our Lord.
There will be a Christmas party for our teenagers on Friday December 14th at Dennis & Mary Wohlford’s home. More details later. The Area-Wide Singing will be at the Gentry congregation on Sunday December 2nd. A wedding shower and reception will be given at the home of Malcolm & Linda Winters for Caitlin & Jacob Harvey on Saturday December 1st from 6:30-8:30 PM. They’re registered at Target and Wal-Mart, and Linda is also preparing a money tree for them.

Those items needed for Fair Haven Children’s Home are toothpaste, pancake mix, bisquick mix, toilet tissue and aluminum foil.
