What an absolutely beautiful Lord’s Day!! It seems spring is getting closer by the minute. We were blessed with the following visitors: Mikayla Bond (Gardner, KS), Pat & Maria Cowden and Jacob & Sarah (Strafford, MO), Rielly Murray (Olathe, KS), Stan & Merlene Taylor (Mt Vernon, MO), Juanita Winters (McKenzie, TN), Nancy Meyer (Washington, MO), Otis & Carol Busbee (Marshall), Shelby Busbee (West Fork), Doris Ragland (Marshall), Dean & Deborah Button (Bentonville), Ted & Lanette and Megan Hiers and Vicky Hobson (Centerton), Marcus Houtchen (Gravette),Cathy Power, Lily West and Mike & Alma Wrinkle (Bella Vista), Linda Doty, Nathan Lunsford, Logan & Tara Spaw and Parker, Tyler Stroud and Randy Gibbs.

Those on our sick list and others needing special prayers include: Please continue to keep Jennifer and Jeff Oxford in your prayers. Talked to Jeff Sunday night and he said that doctors are very pleased with Jennifer’s progress, her blood count is going in the right direction and she is doing remarkably well!! Prayers do work!! Chuck Pippin is in rehabilitation at Springdale’s Northwest Medical Center after his knee surgery. Joyce is not feeling well. They both need our prayers, and check to see if they need any help. Pray for Burl Griggs who will be having surgery in a few days concerning his heart. Lloyd and Betty Berry continue to need our prayers. Betty is in Bentonville’s Northwest Medical Center, room 1430, and Lloyd is in Bradford House. Their mailing address is 24 Ventner, Bella Vista, 72715, and phone # is 855-7262. Why not take time this week to see if they need any assistance. John Archer left Monday for a mission trip to Santiago, Chili. Pray that their mission effort will be a success and for a safe return home. Continue to pray for Shirley Hansen, Robert Oakley, our missionaries, our military and especially for our servicemen that we know, Stephen Duffy, Eric Button, Don Butcher Jr., Ben Burlew and Cam Middlebook. Also pray for their families who miss and love them very much!

We must read Scripture every day and meditate on what God said to fight temptation from the world and live a life that’s Spirit-led. –Sper Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

We would like to thank Nancy and Woody Barker for their hard work around the building last week! We would also like to thank Jeff & Staci Grisham, Charlotte Akridge, Gay Lynn Weldon, and several of our teenagers who hosted a Parent’s Night Out last Saturday evening. Everyone had a great time!

Our new Wednesday night Ladies Bible Class, started this week. Amy Bowman is leading a discussion on the books of Ester and Ruth. Also, the Ladies Card Ministry began working on their latest project for the for the nursing homes. This is a great ministry on Wednesday evening. If you are interested in participation, see Patsy Tarr.

Our young people are reminded about Green Valley Bible Camp. There are applications in the foyer, and they need to be completed and submitted as soon as possible.

Items needed for our Fair Haven Children’s Home are taco sauce, jello, Vienna sausage, toilet tissue and aluminum foil. Thanks to all who participate in this rewarding ministry!

We did have a beautiful Lord’s Day!! This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) We were blessed with our visitors: Doug & Barbara Claxton (Joplin, MO), Nancy Meyer (Washington, MO), Chareen & Logan Button, and Dean & Deborah Button (Bentonville), Patti Thomas (Harrison), Vicky Hobson (Centerton), Jim & Shirl Miller, and Cathy Power (Bella Vista), Randy Gibbs and Tyler Stroud.

Our prayer list this week includes: Cecil and Millie Boothe in the loss of his father. Friends of several in the congregation, Lloyd & Betty Berry, are both having serious medical problems and need our prayers. Randall’s mom is doing better, but still needs our prayers. Randall and Georgia’s grandson, Luis, is now off his breathing treatments and is doing well in Florida. They thank you for your prayers, and pray that when he comes home he will continue to be healed. Continue to pray for Jennifer Oxford, Burl Griggs, and Robert Oakley. John Archer and Robert Miranda have asked us to pray for their mission trip to Santiago, Chili which begins March 3rd. Remember our missionaries, and our military; especially Stephen Duffy, Eric Button, Don Butcher Jr., Ben Burlew and Cam Middlebrook.

“We are dependent on the strength we draw from one another; Words spoken give encouragement, love practiced draws us closer.” (Sper) “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” (1 Peter 3:12)

A big thanks to all the teachers who taught our children’s classes for the winter quarter! We already have our teachers for the spring quarter! This is wonderful!! We receive many blessings when we teach these children! We also thank Cecil Boothe in organizing this teaching ministry! We don’t want to forget to thank all our adult teachers also! You are very much appreciated and loved!

Amy Bowman will be leading a discussion a group on Wednesday evenings. This Ladies Class will start next Wednesday March 5th. The study will be taken from the books of Ruth and Esther. You will enjoy the study of these two outstanding women of the Bible.

You are invited to join the Ladies Card Ministry Wednesday evenings in the Fellowship Area. Patsy Tarr has new craft ideas to make as gifts to area nursing home residents. Why not join them in this community outreach ministry?

The Area-Wide Monthly Singing will be hosted by the Gravette congregation this Sunday. It begins at 2:30 P.M. Come and join in the beautiful singing! The Lubbock Christian University is offering a trip to Canada. They will be going to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal and Quebec, starting July 17-24. If you are interested, you will find information in the church office.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Cecil Boothe’s father, Jay. Please keep Cecil, Millie and their family in your prayers. Also pray for their safe return home from the funeral in Corpus Christi, Texas.

We had lots of rain over the weekend! Well, it could have been ice!! We made it to church, had a nice Fellowship Dinner, and listened to three great lessons from Randall! Now I call that a blessed day!! We want to thank the Winters family, Marg Kahler, Robin Kinder and others who help prepare the wonderful dinner by setting it up, preparing the food and cleaning up. There is a lot of work that goes into these fellowship dinners, and so well done!! Great job!!

These are the visitors we were blessed with this Lord’s Day: Louise Brown (Amarillo, TX), Lance Nicholson (Branson, MO), Neal & Debra Nicholson (Elk City, OK), Mark Welker (Tulsa, OK), Tim & Shelly Gill and Jade (Jonesboro), Brian Halbert (Fayetteville), Megan Rose Hiers (Centerton), Dean & Deborah Button (Bentonville), Cathy Power and Mike & Alma Wrinkle (Bella Vista), Randy Gibbs and Pauline Spaw.

We offer a big WELCOME to Matt, Carol Anne Braswell, along with eleven month old son Tyler. They come to us from the congregation in Cave Springs. Matt is employed by the Carlton Bates Company in Springdale as an account manager and outside sales representative. Get to know this young family, make them welcome, and invite them into your social circle.

Those on our sick list and needing our special prayers include: Jennifer Oxford continues to make some improvements each day, but it is a slow process; please keep her in your prayers daily. Ramona Munsell’s father, James, is home now after being in the hospital. Warren Welker was also in the hospital, and now is at home. He would appreciate your prayers, visits and calls. Jessie Hoover asked that we remember his aunt Patsy, in Holister, who is having a rough time with chemo treatments. Burl Griggs continues to need our prayers. Please keep Burl and his family in your prayers. Continue to remember the Pinner, Gregoire, Barker and the Persel families in their recent losses, Chuck Dunham and Randall and Georgia’s grandson Luis. Pray for our missionaries and our servicemen: Stephen Duffy, Eric Button, Don Butcher Jr., Ben Burlew and Cam Middlebrook.

“By faith a Christian can have poise and rise above all that annoys—sustained and strengthened by God’s power to live in victory hour by hour.” (Hess) “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts,…and be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)

John Archer and Robert Miranda will be leaving on March 3rd for a mission trip to Santiago, Chile. They will be working with five congregations in the city of Santiago, and with our missionary Helmer Rosero and his family. Pray for them a safe and successful trip.

These are some of the things you need to know! This Spring's Bible class material is in the foyer to the Fellowship Area for teachers to pick up. And... If you would like to teach on Sunday morning or Wednesday night, you need to see Cecil Boothe or Randall. We have a revised and reorganized Care Group Ministry. Our Eldership asks that we cooperate with the leaders of these groups, in an effort to keep in touch with one another. A big thank you to the Mowrys, for working on this special project!

We would also like to thank Betty Smith, Dee Eitzen and Carylon Watson for preparing and serving dinner to the Pinner family, and the Bentonville congregation for their desserts. We have so many in our church family who do so much that it is easy to overlook some. We did that last week with the list of those who help prepare our bulletin and work in our tract ministry… We thank Betty Smith, Cleo Drevs, Mary Fry, Richard Mason, Bob & Mattlee Grace, Dave & Kathrine Mowry, Evelyn Lessly and Phyllis Spaw.

God’s beauty has surely been displayed! What a beautiful snowfall we had and then a few days later it feels like spring! I love it! Here are the visitors we were blessed with this Lord’s Day: Tokee Richard (Shawnee, OK), Bob & JoNeil Towler (Seneca, MO), Ted & Lanette Hiers and Megan (Centerton), Rawlon & Madilynn Ruddick and Dean & Deborah Button (Bentonville), Matt & Carol Anne Brasswell and Tyler, Richard & Dianna Mehnert, and Cathy Power (Bella Vista), and Randy Gibbs.

We have quite a few on our prayer list who are ill or just need special prayers. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to Aileen Gregoire, who lost her husband, Frank, Sunday morning. Frank and Aileen attended the Bentonville Church of Christ. We had a call from Burl Griggs’s daughter, Ramona, and Burl has been in the hospital with breathing problems. Osa Branstetter asked that we pray for her son Steve, who is having serious personal problems. Don Sinquefield is recovering from surgery and also lost his son last week. Homer Makinson has been diagnosed with the shingles. Don Moseley is still recovering from his surgery and needs our prayers. Jacob Moseley broke his arm this past week. Randall is taking his grandson Luis to South Florida in hopes that the climate will help his breathing problems. Please keep Luis and his family, and Georgia and Randall in your prayers. Continue to remember our military — especially Don Butcher, Jr., Steven Duffy, Eric Button, and Shirley Hansen’s grandson, Robbie — as well as our missionaries.

Thanks to our Elders who presented us with our 2008 budget this Lord’s Day, and to Charles Cash for our evening services. Charles is our new associate minister. We are happy to have Charles and Nancy! Be sure and get acquainted with them. “I can always count on God, my heavenly Father, for He changes not; He always is the same—yesterday, today, forever, He is faithful, and I know He loves me, praise His holy name.”

The teens will be having a Trick Bowling outing on Saturday, February 16, at 11 AM. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. See Mark or Wilma Bagwell for more information.

It seems like we’re switching daily from winter to spring. It sure adds a little spice to life! Randall & Georgia have asked that we pray for their grand-son Louis who is having some health problems. Lloyd Berry is slowly improving in ICU at Bentonville’s Northwest Medical Center. Continue to remember Burl Griggs, Gladys Caselman, Glenda Oliver (Linda Funk’s friend with cancer), our missionaries and our military. Especially remember these servicemen: Steven Duffy, Shirley Hansen’s grandson Robbie, Don Butcher Jr., and Eric Button.

We are so thankful for the wonderful lessons that Charles Cash has brought us on this Lord’s Day! Charles has been filling in for Randall during his time off. “O love of God, our shield and stay through all the perils of our way; Eternal love, in Thee we rest, forever safe, forever blest.” (Bonar) “…to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.” (Ephesians 3:19)
Thanks to all those who prepared for Jared’s Farewell Dinner after Sunday evening services, and to those who cleaned up afterwards and to Brenda Branstetter for the beautiful cake. Jared is finishing his doctorate degree next month and will eventually be teaching college full-time. We all love Jared very much, he has done so much and we are all going to miss him tremendously!

If you would be willing to organize an event (skating party, bowling party, etc.) for the pre-teen children of the congregation for this year, please sign up in the foyer.

Randall’s mom, Gladys, is now home from the hospital and is doing better. Linda Funk asks that we pray for Glenda Oliver, who has stage-three ovarian cancer. Ray Pinner is also out of the hospital and has been moved to the Bradford House (1202 SE 30th, Room 411, Bentonville, AR, 72712). Remember Ray is having a birthday on January 28th and will be 94, and would love to receive your birthday cards for him! Continue to pray for the Griggs family, Shirley Hale, Randall & Georgia, Jim Bynum, Sue Gartrell, Dee Eitzen’s mother, our missionaries and our military.

Congratulations to Randall & Georgia on the birth of their new great-grandson, Eli McLaurin, born to Hannah and Malcolm McLaurin last Wednesday.

There will be a special going away party for Jared after evening services on January 27th. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for sandwiches, chips and pop. Don’t forget your cards and have a good time!! Jared is special to us all and we wish him the best and lots of love and happiness!!

We have been saddened by so many recent deaths in our church family. Virginia Bridwell lost her husband Dale on December 19th. Dale was one of our deacons for many years. Millie and Cecil Boothe lost their daughter Lacy on Christmas Day. Norma Griggs passed away on January 3rd. Our prayers and heartfelt sympathy goes to these families. “For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:17)

We are so thankful for all our many blessings! These are the visitors we were blessed with: Bob & Patsy Boynton (Whitney, TX), Stan & Ramona Pavias (Las Vegas, NV), Larry & Gretchen Renne (Van Alstyne, TX), Gary& Patsy McCool (Pea Ridge), Deborah Button, Austin Nelson and Janell Wood (all from Bentonville), Randy Gibbs and Tyler Stroud.

Those on our sick list include: Tim Short has a blood clot in his abdomen and asks for our prayers. Shirley Hale has pneumonia. Ray Pinner is in the Northwest Medical Center Hospital. The grandfather of Kim Passmore’s son-in-law, recently died in a house fire, and his grandmother is in the hospital. Please pray for these, and continue to pray for Jim Bynum, Sue Gartrell, Jennifer Oxford, Dee Eitzen’s mother, Martha Presley, our missionaries and our military.

Randall has been granted a leave of absence through the month of January. He is in great need of rest and asks for our prayers and support. We all love Randall and Georgia and hope they both will come back refreshed and know our love for them is steadfast!

Jared did a great job last week filling in for Randall and had a great lesson! Bob Grace had our lesson this Lord’s Day, and it was a very powerful lesson. Thank you Bob for two mighty fine sermons! “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” (1 John 4:7)

A message from Jared Dockery: “Soon I will be stepping down as the full-time youth minister, though I have agreed to teach the Wednesday night teen class for awhile. The elders will soon begin the search for a new youth minister. I am wrapping up my doctoral degree, will be teaching three classes at NWACC this spring, and have begun submitting applications to teach college history full-time. I am deeply grateful for all of the love and support you have shown me, not just during the past seven years, but also during my first stint here in the early 1990s. Thanks to you all.”

Over the weekend, we received a little taste of winter, with cold wind and temperatures, snow and ice. Let’s pray for all those who were in the bad ice storm all around us. It was a devastating storm for some of our neighbors, and we can count our blessings many times over. Our visitors we were blessed with included: Tina Hall (Dover, TN), Otis Busbee (Marshall), Darrel & Shirley Baker (Rogers), Mary Green and Rawlon C & Madilynn Ruddick (Bentonville), Ted & Lanette Hiers (Centerton), Charles & Nancy Cash, Jerry Jeffcoat and Richard & Dianna Mehnert (all from Bella Vista), and Marsha DeVault and Tyler Stroud.

Those on our sick list or just needing special prayers include: Pauline Lambert in Highlands Health, room 204. Frank Gregoire in ICU at Bentonville’s Northwest Medical Center. Frank has been very ill, but is improving some. Sue Gartrell is having health problems and needs our prayers. David Saunder’s niece, Janlyn Brewers, had brain surgery. Continue to remember Marie Flanary’s father Jim Bynum, Glenda Wise’s relative John Collis, Dee Eitzen’s mother, Patty Sinquefield, Don Calhoun, Jennifer Oxford, Norma & Burl Griggs, our missionaries and military. Let’s also remember to pray for those who will be traveling over the Holidays and for those who are in need or who are alone or lonely.

We had two great lessons his past Lord’s Day. Randall did the Sunday morning lesson, and Robb Hadley did the preacher’s exchange for our congregation Sunday evening. Thanks to both for giving us these encouraging lessons to help us with our walk with the Lord.

Last Monday, at the Area-Wide Preachers Meeting, Randall was honored for his work with Gospel Tracts International. They have published a book of his sermons preached here in Bella and in South Africa. Our Elders have made it possible for each family to have a copy. If you want more, they are $4 each. Pick up the books and add the total to your contribution. All proceeds go to Gospel Tracts.

What a great lesson Randall had for us this Lord’s Day! Have we checked our spiritual growth and maturity lately? God will help us pursue spiritual excellence if we study His Word, grow in His Word and use it, share His Word with others and always maintain a close fellowship with Him! “We all, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Jennifer Busbee told me what a great Christmas party the ladies had! A big thank you from all the ladies to their host, Paula Almond! We have to mention Elizabeth and Laura Wohlford in the fine job they did in their Arkansas Figure Ice Skating Christmas Show! Those girls know how to skate!

Thanks to all the children who helped make the cards for the shut-ins and sick! They did a great job and brightened a lot of lives. The young people have been learning in their Bible classes how they can serve God, and this is a great way. Thanks to Sharon Franklin for getting this all together for the children!

A big thank you also to those who helped with filling the shoe boxes for our area children! This is a great program.

We hope you are enjoying the Holiday Fellowship opportunities, The Seniors are scheduled to go to Fayetteville's Catfish Hole on Friday. A big thank you to the Wohlford family for hosting a party for our teens.

Lloyd and Charlotte Schardein are moving to Edmond, Oklahoma. They will be living in the retirement community at Oklahoma Christian University. They have meant so much to this community and to our congregation. Charlotte has worked with Concordia and Lloyd spent many hours taking care of our building and grounds. We will miss them, and wish them well in their new home.

The Holiday Singles Luncheon is Saturday morning on December 8th, here at the building. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. Also on that same day, the Wohlford girls will be skating in the Christmas Pageant at the Jones Center. There are still some tickets left for this event if you would like to go. There is no cost. Jared will drive the van, and we will leave the building at 6 PM.

It is good to have John Archer back from his mission trip to South America. John said the trip was successful. We thank John and Josh for their hard work and dedication for our Lord.

The Area-Wide Singing will be at the Gentry congregation on Sunday December 2nd. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, let us stop from our busy schedules and take stock of all we have. Count our blessings, name them one by one, and be truly thankful that the Lord has blessed us so abundantly. Reach out to someone who might be lonely, in need of a friend, has no family around, or maybe needs a good meal. Include them in your Thanksgiving festivities. They will be blessed, and so will you.

Our congregational Thanksgiving Dinner will be November 18th, after morning services. Everyone is invited. Hope you can attend, and they always do a mighty fine job! It is time for us to host the Concordia service on Sunday at 3 PM, and the Village House service Monday at 10 AM. Hope you can attend and help with both of these services.

Jana Reynolds’s brother-in-law Chris McKenney had a liver transplant and is not doing well. Randy Adams asks for prayers for his daughter, Brooke Myers. Don & Mary Fry asked that we pray for their son’s friend, who lost an arm in an industrial accident. We have been asked to pray for Mallory O’Neal, 6 month baby-girl, who will be having tests. Continue to pray for Don Fry, Mary Montgomery, Ruby Dean-Stroud, Ray Pinner, Mary Kerley, our missionaries, and our military. Remember to keep John & Phyllis Archer and Josh Mahaffey in your prayers as they travel to South America on a mission trip. We pray that they will have a successful mission trip and reach many souls and a safe trip home.

We were happy to have our missionaries from Vanuatu this Lord’s Day. It was great to see Aaron & Cindy Baker, Kaela and their new baby daughter, Melia, who was born last Wednesday in Fort Smith. Aaron had a great lesson about checking to see if we have enough seasoning and flavor in our spiritual life. “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.” (Colossians 4:6)

Heather Cooper would like to thank all those who helped with Kid’s Closet this year. Just think how happy you made those young children!! Also Theresa Hoover would like to thank you for all your generous gifts to the Power House in Noel, Missouri, for the young people there.

The Autumn Harvest Hayride will be at the Winters Farm on Saturday, November 10th. The fun begins at 6:30 PM.

The teens will be going to Sunday Night Live at Johnson Congregation on Sunday, November 11th. We will leave the church building at 5:10 PM.

What a joy! Andrea Bagwell was baptized into Christ last Wednesday! Our young people are so special to us. We love you Andrea!

I believe all our people who are mentioned would appreciate your calls and cards. Remember our missionaries and our military. We especially ask you to pray for John Archer and Josh Mahaffey as they leave soon for their mission trip to South America. We pray that they will have a safe and successful trip and many souls will be reached through their effort.

We all enjoy Randall’s sermons! Sunday he made the point, “Salvation is not the result of our not sinning, but the result of our being forgiven.” Consider these words as well: “Jesus came our debt to pay, saved our soul in grace one day, so in love we all should live, ready always to forgive.” (Bosch) “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” (Psalm 118:14)

Congratulations to Aaron and Cindy Baker! Cindy gave birth to their new daughter, Melia. She was born last Wednesday in Fort Smith and both mom and baby are doing fine. Aaron and Cindy are our missionaries in Vanuatu and they will be joining us for worship services on November 4th. Aaron will be speaking to a combined adult class in the main auditorium and also during the morning worship service. Hope you will be here to support this young family!

The Teens will be having a 5th Quarter Party, hosted by the Bentonville Church of Christ on October 26th. Harold Culwell is ordering pecans again this year; there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

The annual Area-Wide-Worship at Springdale High School will be Sunday evening. Walter Buchanan will be our speaker. Singing begins at 5:30 P.M., with the regular service at 6:00. There will be no evening service here Sunday. Those who want to ride the van for this special service, need to contact John Archer. The van will leave at 4:45 P.M.

We have a new family in our fellowship. They are Jarred & Hollie Linam and their children Taylor and Westin. Kevin and Chere Griffin will be moving to the Tulsa area this week. We will miss them, but wish them well and hope they will come see us often!

We want to thank Don Moseley and his singers for such a great job with the music for Harold Long’s funeral. It was a really beautiful service. Thanks to Randall also. A thank you to all who prepared food, served the dinner, and cleaned up afterwards. We love you all! A special thanks also goes to Jim Branstetter for hauling off all the odds and ends that we collected on our workday clean-up.

The Northwest Arkansas Churches of Christ will have a combined service at the Springdale High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday night, October 21, 2007. The speaker will be Walter Buchanan; singing begins at 5:30 and the service begins at 6. There will be no service here Sunday evening, so that you may attend.

There will be a baby shower for Elisha Alas on October 14th at the building from 2 to 3:30 PM. They are expecting a baby girl. Charlotte Akridge and Robin Kinder are the hostesses.

If you would like to contribute for the mission trip for Josh Mahaffey, you may give your money to one of our Elders. Don’t forget about our Wednesday Fellowship Suppers.

Teenagers will be going to a 5th Quarter Party hosted by the Bentonville Church of Christ Youth Group at their Youth Center on Friday October 11th after the football game. The party will last until midnight. Give Jared a call if you would like to go.

Had some excitement this Lord’s Day. While everyone was arriving for church we found out we had no electricity or water. Greeting each other in the dark. Everything was orderly, we had an abbreviated service, and then went home. I am happy to say, that our brethren came through like troopers! “Let us be Christ’s true disciples, looking to another’s need, making stony pathways smoother by a gentle word or deed.” (Thorson) “Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5)

Remember John Archer and Josh Mahaffey as they get ready for their trip to Mexico, Columbia and Honduras. If you would like to help Josh with his expenses, make your check to the church and give it to either Josh or the Elders.

Congratulations to Jacob Isaiah Harvey and Caitlin Makensie Hayes who were married last Friday. Jacob is the son of Charles & Cindy Harvey and Caitlin is the daughter of John Hayes and the late Rhonda Hayes. Be sure and congratulate the new bride and groom. We wish you both many years of a happy marriage!

A big thank you to Don Persels for his work on improving our sound system and the training of the operators, and thanks to each of them for taking the time to serve our congregation each service. Heather Cooper would like to remind you that it is time for the Community Kid’s Closet Full Campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity to help the kids in our local community. See the bulletin board in the foyer for the Children’s Needs Tickets. There will be a bin under the bulletin board for the clothing, and be sure to return the clothing with your ticket and sales receipt. This helps let them know where each child’s clothing goes, and if anything needs to be exchanged. The clothing needs to be here by October 14th for the children.

You are invited to the Altrusa Club Spaghetti Dinner on October 11th, from 5 to 7 PM at the First United Methodist Church at 2nd & “A” Street in Bentonville. How about this weather! Fall like temperatures, and speaking of fall, it’s just around the corner. We are having a taste of autumn. Our visitors we were blessed with: Sarah & Kaylie Coberley (Pineville, MO), Dale & Wanda Guice (Searcy), Jenny Gunter, Janell Wood and Austin Nelson (all from Bentonville), Lori & Brooke Jedlicka (Rogers), Jarred & Holie Linam and Taylor & Westin (Pea Ridge), Tai Kirby (Bella Vista) and Tyler Stroud.

We have several on our prayer list who need special prayers. Freddie Banks started his chemo last week. Randy Adams is experiencing some health problems. Frances Bontrager went to the emergency room Sunday afternoon, and is now back home. Jeanie Schell is now home from the hospital and needs lots of rest; the family has requested no visitors at this time. Bob Moser is having serious lung and heart problems and is at home. Pat Keller’s son, Bill, had surgery last Thursday and is staying with her. Norma Griggs has been placed on Hospice care. Randall’s dad is now home from being in the hospital last week. Twila Mason is home and her health is improving. Chuck Pippin is home and recovering from his surgery. Please keep all of these in your prayers and continue to pray for Don Fry, Jennifer & Jeff Oxford, Clara Dean Welker, our missionaries and our military.

It is such a blessing to receive Randall’s good lessons! Demonstrating our love for Jesus and the Brethren is something we can always improve on. “Lord, I need Your help even to see the needs of people around me and then to know how to care for them. Give me a heart of compassion like Yours and opportunities to express Your love.” (Crowder) “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Cor. 13:13)

A big thank you to all of those who helped with our recent remodeling on the building, our new classrooms, painting, cleaning and etc.! We are so blessed to have such dedicated Christians, who diligently do what they see needs doing!

We also want to thank those who helped with our back-to school fellowship after morning services Sunday. It takes a lot of work to plan the menu, prepare the food, set up the tables, serve, and clean up. Thanks to all who helped to make it a special fellowship! We wish all our young people a great school year!!

Randall will be teaching the auditorium class on Wednesday nights on the subject of “Angels Among Us.” Patsy Tarr will also be resuming the Ladies Card Ministry class. You are invited to join either of these classes. Our Wednesday Evening Fellowship Meals are starting up again this week. Be sure and sign up each week and join in for good fellowship and a meal. Don’t forget about Ladies Bible Class each Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM, except for visitation on the 1st Wednesday of the month. We would love to have you join us!

This Sunday Evening, our worship service will be in song. Don Moseley will lead this service. Invite your friends who love good singing and fellowship! Also Sunday night, the teens will be going to Sunday Night Live at Robinson Avenue. They need to be at the church parking lot by 5:10, and should return around 8:30 or 9.

The Harding Lectureship will start on September 30th. You will find more information in the foyer.

Those on our sick list or just needing special prayers include: Randall’s dad is in the hospital with pneumonia, and doing better. Bob Moser is having serious lung and heart problems. He is at home and needs our daily prayers. Twila Mason is now home recovering from her illness. Please pray that she will continue to do well. Norma Griggs has been placed on Hospice care. Continue to pray for her and Burl. Jeanne Schell is at Northwest Medical Center and needs our prayers. The family requests no visitors at this time. Freddie Banks is starting his chemo, please keep him and Mary in your prayers. Dale Bridwell has been moved to a new room at Inisfree. He is now in room 105. I know Dale and Virginia would love your visits. Chuck Pippin is now at home. Continue to pray for Clara Dean Welker, Mary Kerley, Alvaro Ortiz, Jeff & Jennifer Oxford, Olga Smith, Ray Pinner, Don Sinquefield, our missionaries and our military.

Congratulations to Alexandria Gibson who is now a member of the 66 Club. She now knows all the books of the Bible. We are so proud of you!

A big thank you to all who have been helping with the new classroom additions, the teacher’s supply room and all the cleaning and painting in the fellowship area and other places.

We will be having a Back-To-School Fellowship dinner on Sunday September 16th. Our Ladies Bible Class starts every Wednesday at 10 AM and the first Wednesday of every month is visitation. Please join these dedicated ladies, you will greatly benefit from this ministry.
It takes one-hundred dollars to sponsor a child in Gambia for one year; why not make out a check to the church and give it to Mitchell Whittington?

We are happy to announce that Richard Branam has placed membership with this congregation! If you don’t know Richard, seek him out and get acquainted. It is a joy to have you serve with this congregation.

They spread their wings and soar like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31) We were blessed with the rain we received, and blessed with our visitors: Nikki & Brandon Lee (Oklahoma City, OK), Albert & Karen Orear (Edmond, OK), Brenda Taylor (Tulsa, OK), Carol Asmundson (Dallas, TX), Bob & Patsy Boynton (Whitney, TX), Paul & Virginia Carter (Sherman, TX), Lori & Brooke Jedlicka and Jarred, Hollie, Taylor & Westin Linam (Pea Ridge) and Tyler Stroud.

Those on our sick list, or just needing special prayers include: Mary and Marlin Kerley have gone to Kansas City to see the doctors. They hope to do the procedure to repair the hole in her heart this week. Frances Bontrager has gone to Nashville to see the specialist for her lung condition. We pray that they will be able to help her, and for the safe return home of Frances, Arley and Randall. Twila Mason is improving at Regency Hospital in Springdale. She is in room 2603, and is still in need of our prayers. Dolores McBride’s sister Delena Duke is better, but still needs our prayers. Please pray for Wanda Camp’s grandson, Ben Burlew, who is in Afghanistan. Continue to pray for Jared’s grandmother Ida Roberts, Alvaro Ortiz, Jennifer Oxford, Freddie Banks, Harold Akridge’s aunt Dee Wann, Burl and Norma Griggs, Donald Butcher in Iraq, Susan Duffy, Olga Smith, Clara Dean Welker, Ray Pinner, our missionaries, and our military.

The lesson Randall presented us with this Lord’s Day is excellent! We all need to be reminded of the things that can pull us down as Christians. “O the emptiness of life without the Savior! Nothing worldly here can truly satisfy; We can only reap a harvest that’s abundant, serving Jesus as to self we daily die.” (Bosch) “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)

We do appreciate and thank all who have been working so hard to get our new class rooms ready!! We love you guys and your service to our Lord. Thank you so much!

Ladies Bible Class starts September 12th with a study entitled “The Shadow Of The Cross” by Casandra Martin. Bible study will start at 10:00 AM, followed by a salad luncheon. Bring your favorite recipe and enjoy the fellowship together. Don’t forget ladies the visitation first Wednesday of every month.

Our Wednesday evening meals will start up again on September 19th. If you can help in this ministry by organizing, serving the meals and cleaning up each week, there will be a sign-up sheet in the foyer.
